Scenic Canyonville is a good place to go antiquing. The Oregon Donation Land Act of 1850 allowed settlers to move into the Cow Creek and South Umpqua River Valley, and the Umpqua paid the price of assimilation with disease, poverty and death. In 1854, the federal government purchased 700 square miles of their land at three cents per acre, leaving the Umpqua landless and poor. The Umpqua Valley traditionally belonged to the Cow Creek Band of the Umpqua Tribe. Seven Feathers RV Park is orderly and well-maintained. I was impressed with the wide cement roads and pads, picnic tables, insulted water taps, 70-foot pull-throughs and manicured lawns between the sites. There are 191 fully serviced sites in this pet-friendly park, with free internet, cable television, laundry facilities, fitness centre, heated pool, hot pool-and the list goes on. This park is so appealing that it just begs you to stop, for at least one night. This is a premier RV resort that consistently earns high ratings for its facilities, cleanliness and visual appeal. The resort is a popular place to spend the night and play a round of golf. Generators are permitted to be ran from 7 am until 10 pm.Ĭheck out the casino's website for more information, if you're a veteran, Tuesdays are when you want to visit.Snowbirds travelling along I-5 often stop at the Seven Feathers Casino and Resort in Canyonville, Oregon, about 25 miles south of Roseburg. The lot is located north of the casino just east of the Burger King. We will definitely, use the casino in the future as a stop-over while driving I-5. Other campers were friendly and we felt pretty secure. The casino features a $9.99 buffet at 4 pm and a steak and eggs breakfast for $2.99 for truck drivers (anyone one with a CDL) It was our first experience in a parking lot and it was good.
We also noticed in other parking lots around the casino there were several RV's parking at a distance from the building. Several people were doing this so it looked like the norm. The other option (which we took) was to take up several of the back-in spaces and make them pull-thrus. They also have an equal number of back-in spaces that are less than forty feet, however, the grass field behind the spaces allows for RV to hangover the parking lot. I'm guessing in the fifty-foot neighborhood. The parking lot has several spaces for pull-thru camping, only, they are a little too short. Instead, we opted to dry camp in a parking lot that the casino has set aside for that purpose. Seven Feathers Casino has a beautiful campground, we didn't go there.
